These heads were put through Dan Bennett's toughest scrutiny!
When we get club components in from manufacturers and club companies, the first thing Dan does is weigh the five iron head. Did you know that a five iron head is supposed to weigh 252 to 258 grams? Does not matter which company made it - 252 to 258 for a five iron head.
If the five iron head weighs 252 to 258, Dan will weigh the other heads. If the five iron head that we received weighs less than 252 or more than 258 grams - in the trash the whole set goes.
In fact, if any one head of the entire set is outside the standard - in the trash the whole set goes.
If all the heads meet the standard, Dan will then locate the center of gravity (CG) on the heads. Without a low CG you will have trouble getting any height on the ball. You would be surprised how many 'top dollar' - 'name brand' irons are hard as the dickens to hit because their center of gravity is just too high.
Then Dan will carefully inspect each head. Is weight distribution correct for a golfer to get maximum benefit? In fact, he will painstakingly locate the precise center of gravity horizontally and vertically - this process alone takes close to two hours! Are the heads oversize and correctly perimeter weighted to help a golfer gain control? In short - are the heads forgiving on a mis-hit or they made for that rare golfer with the all-perfect swing 100% of the time! Will they really help a golfer!
That was two years ago
Since then the design manufacturing company of those heads - the DeTomaso Golf Company - asked us over and over if we thought there was any way to make the Diamondback Pulse irons even better
Dan told owner of DeTomaso Golf - Alex DeTomaso, a brilliant club designer - it is always helpful to move the center of gravity as low as possible and as far back from the face as possible.
Then Mr. DeTomaso sent us the newly redesigned heads. These are the next generation iron heads and were named the RISSA - means "aggressive" in Italian.
Dan was impressed with his initial testing. The weight on each and every head was right on the money. Center of gravity was very low - just where it should be. Weight engineering - perfect. Perimeter distribution - perfect. Balance - perfect. These computer designed heads were precisely the flawless club head a serious golfer needs!
Dan then inspected these heads feature by feature with his 30X Cinepar 13-25mm stereo microscope! They passed his scrutiny with flying colors. Frankly, I don't know of any professional club builder who inspects heads with a microscope, but Dan does; I told you he is a bit obsessed with club technology! That's the way Dan is.
I have never seen Dan so enthusiastic about any irons as he was about the new DeTomaso Rissa heads. At this point Dan was genuinely excited by these heads and built a set of irons with them.
He played them. I played them.
This is far and away the critical question --
Will these heads really help a golfer?

We are surrounded by clubs. We could offer any brand and sell any brand we want. We choose to play theses new DeTomaso Rissa irons. Callaway, PING. and now the new DeTomaso Rissa
Anybody who has been around clubs for any length of time knows Callaway makes a great iron. A few of their models are very forgiving. The same can be said for some PING models and Taylor Made irons - great clubs, easy to hit and very forgiving.
Now, you can add DeTomaso Rissa. irons to that very select list! But because the manufacturer is new and because we bought three hundred sets at one time, these are a whale of a lot less than Callaway or PING.
