I hear it all the time -
“I have these Callaway’s (or PINGS or you name it) and I don’t seem to be able to hit them”

Clone clubs? What are clone clubs?

Clone clubs are clubs that look to the naked eye like a High Dollar Club – except the clone is named something else.

Example – clones of Callaway and PING clubs are everywhere.

Here’s the problem – some few clones are good.

Most are junk and not worth the steel they threw together to stamp them out!

A guy will call me and ask if our DeTomaso Irons can help. Well, what do you play now, I’ll ask?

PING G5 or Callaway Big Bertha (or whatever) but I can’t hit them very well.

If the clubs he mentions are really game helping clubs (Callaway’s and PINGS are – most others just plain are not), I’ll tell him that it’s unusual not to get some sort of game improvement with those clubs.

I’ll ask a few more questions about them because after all these years, I have an idea what I’ll find out…

Almost 100% of the time it turns out he actually isn’t playing PINGS or Callaway’s –
He’s playing a clone of them!

That’s when the whole thing comes apart. With clones (clubs that look are supposed to like name brand expensive clubs) you have absolutely no earthly idea if you bought a good one or lousy crummy junk! I can’t tell just by looking at it – OK, I can tell at a glance with some clones but those are so bad it’s criminal to sell them. Even my partner Dan, who supervises all of our assembly and quality control can’t tell – until he takes the club apart and measures, weighs and tests the head.

I’ve even had a few guys who wanted to send their clubs to us to test. For what we would have to charge - disassemble, check and test each component and reassemble - they might as well go buy the genuine article!

It boils down to this –
A few clones are really good
The vast majority should me melted down and made into boat anchors

Some mighty big clone companies are putting out some mighty awful product. And some companies that even use good clone heads still manage to screw it up by using a really lousy shaft! Even a good head can’t perform with a lousy shaft.

I’m not saying a shaft has to be Rifle or True Temper. They both make some very good shafts and frankly, they both make not-so-good market shafts. And some smaller, almost unknown, companies make nothing but top quality shafts. So here again how can you tell?

Here is the answer-

You have to invest in a few thousand dollars worth of measuring equipment. You have to take your clubs apart weigh, measure, test and inspect each component. Then you’ll know.

Or –
The Big High Dollar Companies could quit spending unheard of amounts of money on ever ballooning marketing and extravagant endorsement contracts, lower the price of their clubs to about one-third what it is now and then there would be no clones.

But they won’t do that.

Look, this is not meant to be a plug for our DeTomaso Pulse our driver or any of our products at all but why not buy clubs that were designed from the outset to give your game the most help, the most forgiveness possible? They may or they may not resemble other clubs. But if they help your game then that is the club you should use.

That way, you give yourself a choice – go to the store and buy overpriced clubs from them, buy so-called clones and take your chances or by from a company like ours that guarantees to help your game and backs it up with a guarantee so it puts its money where its mouth is

OUR GUARANTEE

"If you don't like it, we want it back - even if you have used it."

When we first started this policy we were warned, “Nobody else does that. Some people out there are going to take advantage of you. Some dishonest types will just rip you off.”

Nope. That has not happened. And besides, we mean it –
If you are not 100% happy, send anything back along with the receipt in thirty days and get a full refund!

Most all companies will let you return clubs if you have not played with them. Does that seem dumb?! How do you know if you like them or not if you do not use them?!

Anything you buy from us is returnable – yes, even if you have used them.
